National Bike to School Day
Wednesday, May 4th – All day
As part of of National Bike Month, schools and communities around the country will celebrate the fourth annual National Bike to School Day on Wednesday, May 4, 2016. Join in the fun by having you or your child bike to and from school that day!! Remember to be safe. Helmets are recommended. Stay on bike paths and sidewalks. Obey the crossing guards.

Bike Hutto Booth at COOP Market Nights
Wednesday, May 4th 6pm-8pm
Bike Hutto will be having a booth at Downtown Hutto’s CO-OP Market Night on March 9th. We’ll be providing information about Bike Hutto, so swing on by and say hi while you’re shopping! There will be an opportunity to give input on the Bike Parking Needs Assessment that Bike Hutto will be conducting throughout the month of May.
Bike Safety Preschool Story Time at Hutto Public Library
Thursday, May 5th 10:30am – 12pm
Bike Hutto will be one of the special guest at the Hutto Public Library’s preschool story time focusing on Bike Safety. There will be songs, stories, and activities. And make sure for kids to bring their bicycles for some very special bicycling outdoor activities! We do encourage children to bring their helmets.
CycloFemme Mother’s Day Ride on Brushy Creek Trail
May 8th 8am
Celebrate Mother’s Day with a 15-18 mile ride along the Brushy Creek Trail — including a stop for coffee — with group ride leader Kim Kimball!
This ride is part of the National CycloFemme movement! CycloFemme is a socially-driven grass-roots celebration of women on bikes. Their annual Mother’s Day ride unites riders, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity or bicycle preference to share in the joy of cycling. Bring water and money for coffee. This ride is for people with hybrid, mountain, or road bikes…. Most of the trial is cement, but there are some dirt/gravel areas, not many but a handful.
Garden Bike Tour
Saturday, May 14th 4pm-6pm
As part of Downtown Hutto’s Home and Garden Show, Bike Hutto will be hosting a Garden Bike Tour. We will be riding throughout Hutto’s Olde Town and touring 4 home gardens. This is a very beginner friendly ride and all ages are welcome. Each garden tour will be about 20 minutes. We will start downtown and end downtown.
National Bike to Work Day
Friday, May 20th – All day
May 16th-20th is National Bike to Work Week, with May 20th being National Bike to Work Day. With increased interest in healthy, sustainable and economic transportation options, it’s not surprising that the number of bicycle commuters has grown. On the 20th, make an effort to bike to work if it is possible (and safe). And if you are unable, at least try to use the bike for transportation sometime that week!
Brushy Creek Trail Ride
Sunday, May 22nd 8:15am
Group Ride Leader Patti Grant will be leading a group ride starting at Brushy Creek Lake at the waterscape. It will be a combination of paved path and soft gravel. Distance to be determined. Wheels down at 8:30am. Bring hydration, nutrition, helmet, sunscreen, and towel. Patti will provide goodies when ya’ll finish. This ride is for people with hybrid, mountain, or road bikes…. Bike and Brunch

What’s better than brunch?? Getting in a great bike ride before hand!
Join Group Ride Leader, Amber Townsley for Bike and Brunch! This will be a 20 mile, no-drop ride. It’ll start and end at Baked N Sconed here in Hutto. After the ride enjoy coffee, scones, quiche, etc. at one of our favorite local spots. Don’t forget water, as well as money for brunch!
