Community of Cyclists Profile: Will Hutchinson

 Hello My Name Is_Will

Will Hutchinson Will Hutchinson
“I love the smell of the outdoors and the wind in your face.”
1. What is your occupation?
I am currently in Hutto as a Church Planter with  Resonate Community Church.  I also work full time at the city as the Purchasing Specialist.
2. Use 3 words to describe who you are?
Loyal, Adventurous, Energetic
3. How long have you been riding a bike?
I have been riding since I was a kid.  I really got back into cycling about 5 years ago while living in Nacogdoches, Tx.  They have some great Mountain Bike trails there.
4. Do you ride for recreation, transportation, or both?
I ride mostly with my kids, but I do love riding to work.
5. What do you enjoy most about cycling?
I love to be off-road.  I have always loved being out in the woods and putting a bike with that is just amazing.  I love the smell of the outdoors and the wind in your face.  Add in the complexity of navigating the trail and the thrill of the ride it is Awesome.
6. What would you love to see for bicyclists in Hutto?
Definitely some off-road trails.  I would also like to see a practice course to teach kids how to ride off-road.  It would be nice to practice here as well.  Something simple with dirt ramps and a technical course would be amazing.
7. Anything more to add?
My family loves to ride the Cotton Wood creek trail.  It is safe and a good ride for my 4 year old.  I have only been in the area for a little over a year and have not had the opportunity to ride all the trails, but I love the ones around Georgetown.

The Community of Cyclists Campaign is an effort by Bike Hutto to show the wide variety of people in Hutto that bike.  The campaign will promote the fact that there is no one “type” of person who rides a bicycle.  They are our friends, our neighbors, our students, and our colleagues.  It is always best to put a face to the name, whether you’re talking about bike safety, future bike infrastructure, or social events.  Hutto is about community.
